Most major research funders require some form of documentation at the application stage, to explain how research data will be managed. Applicants are asked to estimate the type and scale of their research data, how data will be stored securely during the lifetime of a project and how it will be shared and preserved after the project has ended.

Most major research funders require some form of documentation at the application stage, to explain how research data will be managed. Applicants are asked to estimate the type and scale of their research data, how data will be stored securely during the lifetime of a project and how it will be shared and preserved after the project has ended.

When proposed research involves sensitive data, researchers will be asked to consider if anonymisation or restricted data sharing is appropriate.

The lab team is currently developing a Handbook for Data Management. The goal of this handbook is to guide lab users through the jungle of data management at various stages of the research project: from the initial planning phase, to the project phase and until after the completion of the project. The handbook is specifically written with researchers working in psycholinguistics/sociolinguistics in mind that collect data from human participants: both children and adults with and without clinical diagnoses
