Objectives:

We will be using yeast to test the newly fabricated chip. the yeast concentration will be 8,8*10^7 cell per miliLiter. For this reason we will be reusing the concentration calculations from the testing of first chip. We will be using 2 grams dry yeast, 49,5 ml destilled water and 2 grams yeast. The yeast will be grown for 30 to 40 min, or less depending on visual factors (foam production), heat generation and pressure.

When we were settting up the electrical equipment we noticed that the chip produces an unexpected signal below 100HZ.

We will be starting at 50 Hz and increasing it in 50 hz intervalls whilst looking for changes in the cell behaviour.

We saw no yeast cells, and thought that might indicate that the dropplet does not reach the bottom of the well or that the yeast cells are floating to the top of the droplet if it reaches the bottom of the well.

Results:

- IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- we saw clear rotation of cells, and filmed our results. they are saved on the computer locally, and will be transferred to our google drive.

- next course of action is to get HeLa cells from Petter at HTH and try rotation on HeLa cells!!!!!!!
