TITLE: IDeALT, the National Identity Program

ABSTRACT: This talk describes the status of the national ID cards program. The introduction of a new national ID card is justified by the need for strengthening the robustness of credentials where it is relatively "easy" to forge identity such as for emergency passports, driving licenses and credit cards. The goal of the national ID card is to enable robust and timely identification of individuals. Law enforcement agencies are currently wasting considerable time and are at risk of making mistakes when identifying individuals because existing identity credentials often can not be trusted.

SPEAKER: Annar Bohlin-Hansen, Norwegian Police Directorate and manager for IDeALT, the national identity program.

BIO: Annar Bohlin-Hansen is police inspector, and manager of the Norwegian IDeALT program.
