This lab exercise was developed for the UiO KJM 5911 course.

Learning Goals

You will learn about semiconductor detectors, in particual Ge-detectors. Such detectors are used for precise determination of the intensities and energy of the [math]\gamma[/math]-quanta, commonly reffered to as [math]\gamma[/math]spectroscopy. In the exercise we will not perform the actual analysis of [math]\gamma[/math]spectra, but we will look into how the results can be used to identify an unknown sample, and how we can determine its absolute amount.
