Notes:
- our cells: BV2 cells (original cells that got gene mutated)
- immortalised murine microglial mice cells from the brain; microglial cell line; biosafety 2 (same as HeLa)
- culture medium: same as for HeLa (DMEM with some extra ingredients)
- heat inactivated FBS: 50 degrees in the water bath (not bead bath!) for 30 minutes
- most interesting comparison: WT vs Abcd1/Abcd2
- the cells are partially attached; so quite different from HeLa cells and MDCK
- S.Savary was the person Petter took contact with
To Do:
- order the cell counting slips
- discuss PCR tests for standard sequencing and when to do it: will need to do it to have an authentication certificate to prove that our mice cells have the specific gene knockout and are what we claim them to be
- think of the cost: 2-5K NOK per cell line?
