ABSTRACT: Lately, smartphones have outclassed PCs both in numbers and usage and this trend is still continuing. Unfortunately, together with the popularity came also the malicious attacks. Indeed, the mobile phone is now more than ever exposed because it has become an inseparable companion of each individual carrying valuable information, which can be exploited economically. Furthermore, both the awareness of the danger and the countermeasures are still quite limited. This talk will clarify the threats that smartphones are exposed to and present some of the countermeasures.
