TITLE: Spam Filter Analysis with Signal Detection Theory
ABSTRACT: From the perspective of spam filtering, a spam message is a signal that needs to be detected. Signal Detection Theory (STD) provides a method for analysing the optimality of spam filters. This talk discusses how STD can be applied.

TITLE: Applying Reputation Systems in Spam Filtlering
ABSTRACT: An IP address can be considered as a SP for sending email, where sending ham (genuine email) represents good quality service, and sending spam represents bad quality service. A reputation system can be an effective tool for filtering out spam, and this method is being applied in commercial systems.
