Presentation slides: Media:AFSec20140129-Ligaarden-NSM.pdf
ABSTRACT: The TPM (Trusted Platform Module) standard and hardware chip were introduced in 2003. Stakeholders have repeatedly promised that the TPM would solve many of today's serious security problems. This talk gives an overview of the TPM technology, and its potential for providing robust security to modern computing platforms. The talk also demonstrates the use of the TPM with examples from the Windows domain.
SPEAKER BIO: Olav Ligaarden obtained his Master's and PhD degrees in informatics from the University of Oslo. His PhD project was hosted at SINTEF where he worked on security and risk modelling. In 2013 he joined NSM (National Security Authority) where he works on security for Windows-based systems.
