IT-equipment

NCMM IT will assist in purchasing the most suitable system for your needs, including laptops, desktops, servers, printers, and scanners. Before ordering supplies or software, you must seek approval for the purchase from your group leader. Once the approval is in order, please read about system order procedures for IT at NCMM and contact one of our IT officers to start filling out the system purchase form.

Lab consumables

  • Supply Center → On the 3rd floor, in the corridor just past the “red” lunch room, NCMM has a freezer, fridge and room temperature area containing various basic lab consumables from Life Technologies/Thermo Fisher Scientific. Each research group pays for their own outtake. When taking a product from the Supply Center, the user must inform their group’s purchasing officer who will then place an order to re-fill the stock. It is also possible to order other items from the Thermo Fisher catalogue. All orders (for both stocked and non-stocked products) placed through the Supply Center are freight free. Orders sent by noon on Mondays will normally arrive the following Wednesday. Upon arrival, all deliveries are unpacked and put in the Supply Center area storage area. Please remember to pick up your non-stock items as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please ask Head Engineer Gladys Tjørhom.
  • Lab consumables ordered by the groups → Each group’s purchasing officer is in charge of all practicalities when it comes to ordering consumables. Your group leader must approve requests before orders are placed through UiO’s procurement system. Your purchaser will keep you updated about the status of your order.
  • Incoming packages → All incoming items usually arrive at NCMM’s E2 reception. The recipients will be notified by Carlos Rodrigues, but you should check in with the reception when you are expecting a delivery.
