Student Board meeting notes

- planning another joint meeting with all of LLL:

• 13-17 of June as potential week for the joint meeting
• send email to LLL to ask for preferred dates
• casual get-together, perhaps a picnic?

- some of our post-docs will be leaving soon: what is going to happen afterwards?

• Dag Kristian is discussing this with Life Sciences dept. - will potentially get post-docs from them
• new biophysics PhD's from dept.of Physics might also get involved sometime next semester

- hard to keep track of some of the older students - have certain "ghost" students that are not active

• maybe we can create a list of things that we expect from all new students joining LLL to avoid confusion like this in the future
• ask current members of LLL about their plans regarding LLL - whether they are staying or not (we need to update our list of students after summer)

- important to have all of the documentation (progression of each project and experiments) in this Wiki

• all three projects struggle with keeping their stuff in Wiki - groups have other preferred sites, but it is nevertheless important to import everything to this Wiki at the end of the semester
• Dag Kristian proposed summer jobs for this - 5-10 hours (and potentially more) to move all pictures, protocols and other documentation here and to create a sorting system here that works for each group
• 3 positions are open for one member from each group

- planning LLL event at Realfagsbiblioteket

• discussed potential dates; decided upon 30.08
• need to kick-start the semester right after the event: should have an internal meeting with all of LLL and new members one week after the event
• also need to have an "opplæringsuke" for new students: this needs to happen as soon as possible; either 09.09 (ideal) or 12.09-19.09 depending on who is available when and how much workforce we have
• this opplæringsuka will be paid for :)
