20210323 meeting
Meeting note 23.03.2021 Microfluidics (Written by Jan)
Today we discussed more chip-designs.
- We talked about a loop-design to avoid using a sophisticated system to flush the system. Problem is, the loop won't work, because the flow has no inertia and will just follow towards the outlet.
- We also have a design where we integrate some gradient generators into the design
- We need to make sure there is no backflow
- Keep it simple, rather than complicated. We need experience first.
- How do we keep cells inside the chambers? Instead of just flushing them out all the time
- In the big chambers where the flow rate is small, the cells might stick to the walls.
- Width of channels is important. Bacteria is much, much smaller than human cells. So size is important.
- Check Dag's folder for specifications on chip size
Next meeting: (29.03.2021 14.00)
- More drawings!
