Meeting notes

-         Nigar Abbasova will make a doodle so we can decide on a physical meeting in the next week or so.

Documentation & reporting

-         All groups should set a deadline to write up their work and results of this period

-         Instagram/Youtube story (Aug. 23)

-         Documentation at LLL wiki (Aug. 23)

-         Presentation (Aug 25-27)

-         Short report (Aug. 30)

-         Documentation is the gritty details and specifics of what you did. Short report is meant to be more pedagogical and to be read by other people.

-         Labs will be open during the summer for those who want to continue working.

Future plans:

-         Mark end of first round with an event

-         Introduce new students to the project by showing off milestones and achievements.

-         Possibly connect with industry partners. We can ask them for advice and where we can move forward. They might also have some equipment we could borrow.

-         Can host this either at StoreFy or, even better, at Vilhelm Bjerknes where we will also have better equipment to broadcast the event.

-         Most students want to continue in the next semester.

-         How many more students could we have in each LLL group? Groups agree that more than 6 is too much.

-         We need more physicists.

-         We can work with student organisations to help us recruit new students.

-         Going to lectures?

-         The main goal should be to publish a research paper in the end! Everyone who has worked should be a co-author, despite those who left.

-         Remember to keep your e-mail updated of all the authors! So if you leave, make sure there’s a way to contact you.

-         Independent sub-projects are highly encouraged which can eventually lead to new research projects.

-         A suggestion could be to combine efforts from several groups to make new sub-projects. E.g microfluidics combined with muscle tissue.

-         An idea to brainstorm ideas would be to have physical meetings (once a month?), and to have a digital platform, shared between all research groups. Dag suggests the new software Mattermost from UiO.

-         The physical meetings can either be compulsory or strongly recommended. We agreed on “strongly recommended”.

-         There is also a possibility to have paid work related to LLL, in addition to research. Contact Dag for more information.

Next semester:

-         Training every start of semester

Techniques and procedure so that we have a safe and efficient work environment

Training done by someone who is paid (and that we trust)

Feedback from students to support team:

-         You can send feedback to the support team via e-mail
