Second meeting of LagLivLab Studentstyre (LLL-SS)

Discussing the event

• Firstly, waiting for reply from the library. Their reply is crucial to us, and if we don't hear anything by Monday 30.08.21, another email will be sent (Nigar)
• Need to discuss the food with Dag Kristian : we are thinking that waffles will be best but somewhat time-consuming (need someone to make waffles if we go for it)
• Planning the presentation:
  • 1 step: Need main presenter - if DG has time, maybe present LLL background and everyone involved?
  • 2 step: Three groups present their work from last semester and their future plans for this semester (ca.10-15 min per group or less).
  • 3 step: Post-docs either here or during the group presentations in 2 step
  • 4 step: Time for questions and waffles. End of presentation
• All three groups should start working on their presentations for the event. Need to keep them short and informative, avoid a lot of text.
• Need to send email to industry, specifically UiO:Livsvitenskap (https://www.uio.no/forskning/satsinger/livsvitenskap/personer/torunnvi/ ). Deadline for email invitation: 31.09.21
  • Before doing this, need library people to reply with answers to our questions. Nigar will ask them about promoting the event on Facebook and other platforms, which then can be sent to our guests (like UiO:Livsvitenskap)
• Promoting the event and inviting students: someone from styret needs to create a poster to post around campus. Tengel offered to do it if he has time, if not, someone else needs to take over.
  • Include words such as "makerspace-lab", "interdisciplinary collaboration", date and time of the event. Deadline next Friday 03.09.21
  • Nigar will send email to Espen from StudieAdm. about promoting LagLivLab by sending a newsletter to students at Fysisk and Kjemisk. Will also ask Susanne Viefers to include the event in the weekly newsletter for employees to spread the word about it.
  • Tengel will ask someone at biovitenskap about sending information about the event to biovitenskap and (potentially) medicine students.

Cell lab routines

• Thomas will discuss the lab routines with Håvard starting next week. Labs need to be checked twice a week to make sure that everything is working.
• Existing maintenance spreadsheet will be used as a checklist for cell lab routines.
• Håkon was not present in meeting today but will presumably be joining the routine work next week.

Extra notes

Our styret needs to get better at delegating tasks. We need to discuss this next time we have a meeting. For now, Nigar will take care of communication via email with different industries, employees and others.
