We did our first trial rotation with BV-2 WT cells. We used 0.5ml from 10ml cell concentrate.

Observations:

  • during the recording, some cells were moving towards the electrode, which is an issue for 50 MHz, so we took 2 recordings.
  • observed rotation below 10KHz, but it was very slow so we did not record that
  • the peak was in the 100Khz range. The peak did not feel as sharp as with HeLa, more of a plateu. This will be investigated further after plotting the rotational spectra.
  • Spectra appears to be distinct from our HeLa spectra, but we will gather more data on this cell line before determining a control spectra

We are also trying to figure out the optimal cell concentration for cell culturing.

Results (rotations per 10sec):

Each row for a clip is a different cell.
