Monthly

  • Standard items: Refill and order new if necessary
  • Fridge: Clean and remove items without labels
  • Vacusafe: Empty when half full
  • Incubator: Refill sterile water
  • Waste: Replace full bins. Notify Yi if full bins are piling up.
  • Solutions: Prepare new when half full (PBS, DMEM, sterile water...)
  • Sterile items: Autoclave new batch when half full (Pasteur pipettes, eppendorfs, ...)
  • CO2: Check the CO2 level in bottles. Reorder bottle if necessary.
  • Sticky mat: Replace if not sticking
  • Clean lab:
    • Put loose equipment back in drawers
    • Wipe all surfaces (benches, PC, microscope, ...) with antibac
    • Spray "what is touched" (handles etc...)

Every semester

  • Coats: Replace coats
  • Wash bottles': Empty and refill (Ethanol, distilled water, ...)
  • Clean lab:
    • Mop the floor
    • Clean LAF bench/hood with antibac
      1. Leave only minimum equipment in hood
      2. Remove the base of the bench and clean in the sink
      3. Clean under the base
      4. Clean the inside of the glass sides (windows)
      5. Reassemble
      6. Turn on the UV light
    • Clean inside the centrifuge
