If you are interested in becoming a lab intern, please get in touch with the lab team. We accept interns on an ongoing basis.

Our aim is for lab internships to be mutually beneficial: While interns support the researchers with tasks such as participant recruitment, testing, or data processing, researchers share their knowledge about study design, methodology, and general research practices. Here are some rules and recommendations for researchers who would like to get research support from a lab intern:

  1. Clear Expectations:
    • Schedule a meeting with the intern to discuss and agree on the intern's role, responsibilities, and expected tasks in your study.
    • Specify timeframe, working hours, and any specific project deadlines.
    • Acknowledge interns' contributions in publications, presentations, or other project outputs when applicable.
  2. Training and supervision:
    • Conduct a comprehensive orientation session to familiarize the intern with the study, its methodology and objectives.
    • Provide training on relevant research methods and any specific skills required for tasks such as participant testing, recruitment, or data analysis.
    • For testing participants, provide step-by-step protocols the intern can follow. Ensure the intern has sufficient knowledge of relevant ethical guidelines and the handling of sensitive information.
    • We recommend scheduling regular meetings to assess progress, address the intern’s questions, and provide constructive feedback.
  3. Knowledge Sharing:
    • Actively share knowledge about the research process with interns, including study design, data analysis, and interpretation. We encourage including the intern in some meetings with the research team, if possible.
    • Provide resources for interns to expand their knowledge of the study, such as relevant literature.
  4. Conflict Resolution:
