General information
The video studio has a sofa group, a table with chairs, and a carpet, which can be used for recording participants on the floor. It is equipped with 4 PTZ Full HD cameras, placed in the 4 corners of the room on pegs to adjust the height of the lens. The audio is recorded primarily from the microphones hanging from the ceiling, or additionally from 4 clip-on microphones. All the cameras get the same audio mixed in their video files with minimal drifting between sound and video. The video studio is ideal for conducting, for example, focus-group interviews of participants of all ages, studies of gesture, and collection of conversational data.
You can find more information on how to operate the lab's audio-video system on the page Control room and in the Handbook for the audio-video system.
Information on how to book lab rooms is available at the page Booking rooms.
Introduction and training
If you would like to use the video studio for the first time, get in touch with the lab manager. You will then make an appointment for a one-on-one visit where you will get a tour of the lab, get familiarized with the lab’s routines and code of conduct, and learn how to use the audio-video system. After successful training, you will get permission to book the video studio and make recordings.
For specific questions about the video studio and technical difficulties first consult the Handbook for the audio-video system, and if that does not solve it, get in touch with the lab manager or lab engineers.
