How to keep planning notes organized and why

Most importantly, do not leave an entry blank. Either write your procedure in detail or refer to an existing procedure and provide information about any changes. This can minize repetition, too much repetition results in important information being lost.
If you can, take pictures or include drawings. By offering pictures or drawings of your work you help the rest of the team to visualize what you have done/created which can help them in the future if they are to follow the same procedure.
Include names of the persons present during an experiement. This way if someone has a question they will know who to refer to.
